Atlanta Hawks forward Mike Scott was arrested Thursday on felony drug charges.
Scott, who was with his 20-year-old brother, was charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of Schedule I drug (MDMA), according to Vivlamore. The arrest took place in Banks County, Georgia.
My Fox Atlanta reports that police found marijuana and over 10 grams of MDMA in Scott's car after a car chase around 9 a.m. Thursday. Scott was not the driver of the car.
“We are aware of the situation involving Mike Scott this morning,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said in a statement. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will not have any additional comment at this time.”
The 27-year-old Scott has spent all three years of his career in Atlanta. In 68 games in 2014–15, he averaged 7.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
Scott is under contract with the Hawks through the end of the 2016–17 season after signing a three-year, $10 million extension with the team in August 2014.
