Knicks G Afflalo will start against Hornets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher says guard Aaron Afflalo will make his first start of the season against the Charlotte Hornets.

Afflalo has been bothered by a strained left hamstring and has missed New York's first eight games.

It's unclear at this point how much action Afflalo will see in his first game.

Fisher said before Wednesday night's game ''we'll just kind of assess how he's going and how he's feeling. The key for a hamstring injury, it's not the first round but once you come out (of halftime) how you're staying warm and ready to go back in.''

Fisher says Afflalo has a good feel for what the Knicks are doing offensively and defensively.
