Pelicans' Anthony Davis exits game vs. Nuggets with shoulder injury
New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis sustained a game-ending injury with 5:39 left in the first quarter of Tuesday night's game against the Denver Nuggets. The team announced he would not return for the second half.
Davis missed the second half of the game against the Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 17 as New Orleans held on for the 120–105 victory. He missed two games with a bruised right hip and returned on Sunday to face the New York Knicks.
The Pelicans are 1–9 on the season heading into Tuesday's contest. Davis' status for Wednesday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder remains unknown.
Davis leads the Pelicans averaging 25.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.
