Toronto native Cory Joseph gave his hometown Raptors a win Saturday night, with a buzzer-beating corner three to top the Wizards 84–82.

After the Wizards’ John Wall missed two free throws up 82–81 to leave the door open, Joseph and the Raptors took advantage. On a sideline out-of-bounds play with three seconds left in the game, DeMar DeRozan wheeled off a screen at the top of the key to take an inbounds pass and beat John Wall to the baseline with two dribbles. As help defenders rotated, Joseph was left alone in the left corner and DeRozan found him before Garrett Temple could recover.

Joseph buried a great look for the bucket and the victory on the road. The Wizards had zero field goals in the final 4:23, and the Ratpors ripped of a 12–2 closing run to complete the comeback.

The off-season signing from the Spurs has proven a strong addition for the Raptors early, providing depth behind DeRozan and Kyle Lowry and giving the team a homegrown star.

Joseph, 24, is averaging 9.2 points and three assists in a reserve role.
