Playing against his former Kentucky teammate, Wizards point guard John Wall out-dueled DeMarcus Cousins and delivered 19 assists in a 113–99 win over the Kings on Monday.

Wall added 12 points to his 19 helpers. Marcin Gortat led Washington with 27 points, while Garrett Temple added 23. Cousins led the Kings with 22 points in 32 minutes.

The Wiz were without Gary Neal and Bradley Beal, but Wall more than made up for their absence. Wall was masterful in his two-man game with Gortat, finding his center on pick-and-rolls for scores over and over. Wall repeatedly slithered his way into the teeth of the Sacramento defense to find shooters and cutters all over the floor.

The win brought Washington within two games of .500 at 12–14.
