Watch: Jabari Parker throws down huge dunk on old friend Jahlil Okafor

Thursday December 24th, 2015

Jabari Parker and Jahlil Okafor have been friends for a long time. Both Chicago natives, the duo were friendly rivals playing for Public League powerhouses Simeon and Whitney Young, and teammates playing AAU ball with the Mac Irvin Fire (you can imagine how much fun that was to watch).

Both guys went one-and-done at Duke, starred for USA Basketball at its youth levels, and now here they are in the NBA, after being selected as top-three picks in consecutive drafts. It’s an underrated storyline anytime the Bucks and Sixers square off, and for anyone with ties to Chicago, always a cool moment.

Well, Wednesday night, the bragging rights went to Parker, as Milwaukee hosted Philadelphia. It all went down early in the third quarter, as Parker took a pass from Michael Carter-Williams and elevated toward the rim, where Okafor was waiting. It didn’t go so well for Okafor.

After all this time, maybe he should have known a little better.

The round itself went to Parker, who went 8 for 10 from the floor for 16 points as the Bucks won 113–100. Okafor finished with 17 points on 5-of-16 shooting and eight rebounds.
