As if it couldn’t get much worse for them, the Philadelphia 76ers were handed an excruciatingly painful 104–103 loss on Wednesday night by Nuggets rookie Emmanuel Mudiay.

Down by two in the closing seconds, Mudiay took the ball across half-court, and hit a 40-foot, double-pump shot as time expired as his momentum carried him away from the basket. The 20-year-old finished with 27 points on 10-of-23 shooting in 42 minutes to go along with 11 rebounds and four assists. He also continued his solid three-point shooting with a 3-for-5 night from deep; he’s now hit 10 threes in his past six games.

The loss was Philadelphia’s 62nd in 71 games, while Denver moved to 29–42.
