Fans were asked to remove their Sam Hinkie jerseys before participating in a contest for season tickets.
Fans wearing shirts in support of former Philadelphia Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie were asked to change or else they would not be able to participate in a contest for season tickets, according to Spike Eskin of Sportsradio 94WIP in Philadelphia.
Hinkie resigned from his post as the general manager and executive vice president of basketball operations with a 13-page letter to the front office.
The Sixers are 10–69, the worst record in the league, after their 109–102 loss to the Knicks on Friday night. Hinkie had been the team’s general manager since the 2013–14 season. Philadelphia went 47–195 in the nearly three seasons under his control. The Sixers opened this season with an 18-game losing streak, and held a 1–30 record going into Christmas.
Former Raptors president and GM Bryan Colangelo will reportedly replace Hinkie.
