Chicago Bulls executive Arturas Karnisovas has already made it known that he doesn't want this team to take the rebuilding route. Despite the shortcomings and the obvious flaws that the squad has, it appears that the Bulls are intent on bringing the entire gang back, starting with free-agent center Nikola Vucevic.

Not keen on blowing the roster up

According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bulls are negotiating a three-year deal with the versatile big man. The sweet-shooting center has been a vital part of Chicago's offense and is a double-double threat in every game. He has also been durable for the Bulls, playing in all 82 games this past season.

"Project "Blow Up" is not an option, according to Karnisovas, who seems fine with staying on the path of continuity. The organization is content to hold out hope for a miraculous Lonzo Ball recovery from three surgeries on his left knee while beginning negotiations on Nikola Vucevic's contract extension over the last week," wrote Cowley.

Defensive issues

Vucevic's offensive skills have never been in question, but the Bulls have to decide if his defense is worth taking a chance on. While Vucevic has improved as a defender over the years, he still suffers from bad lapses that can cost the team points. With DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine already overlapping on offense, it's clear that the Bulls need a center who can play strong defense and help protect the rim against opposing big men.
