Cavs still have some manuevers to make
Anyone who follows the Cavaliers knows the offseason isn't over. Anyone can understand the Cavaliers need LeBron James and J.R. Smith.
And most everyone knows James and Smith remain unsigned.
That is why the NBA champion Cavs made a CBS Sports list of 13 teams with roster moves still to make.
Of course, even CBS Sports realizes signing James is a mere formality. Re-signing Smith could get a little trickier -- but no less than Cavs general manager David Griffin said he's "confident" a deal will get done.
Griffin said the same about Tristan Thompson last season. Griffin was right. A deal (eventually) got done.
Here is what CBS Sports wrote about the Cavs:
This one is pretty simple. The Cleveland Cavaliers should make sure they don't forget to sign LeBron James to a new contract.
While he's verbally committed to re-sign with the Cavs, he's also taking his time this summer, enjoying his time away and not putting pressure on the defending world champions to get certain things done.
The other thing the Cavs have to do is come to terms on a new deal with James Jones and especially J.R. Smith.
So there you have it: Don't forget LeBron, come to terms with Smith, then tie up some loose ends.
It shouldn't be too terribly difficult. But it still needs done.
