Charge rally, then fall short at final buzzer

It was another valiant effort, but the Canton Charge came up short at the last possible moment in Tuesday's 113-111 loss at the Grand Rapids Drive.

Despite trailing by six points with 19 seconds left, the Charge had a shot to tie -- before Jose Gutierrez's runner fell short at the final buzzer. In the end, Canton (4-10) had lost for the second time this season in Grand Rapids.

Clippers assignee C.J.Wilcox led the Charge with 23 points. Quinn Cook added 18 points and Gutierrez had 16 with nine assists. Newcomers John Holland and Jon Horford -- both officially acquired earlier Tuesday -- finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Kelsey Barlow scored 30 points on 10-of-14 shooting to pace the Drive (7-8).

The Charge return home Saturday to face Raptors 905. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
