Ibaka stopped fitting, shipped to Magic

Serge Ibaka was always supposed to join Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook to form a Thunder Big Three. Instead, Ibaka never really fell into the role.

So during Thursday's NBA draft, general manager Sam Presti shipped Ibaka to the Magic for Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova and the draft rights to Domantas Sabonis, the No. 11 selection.

This all took place one week before Durant hits free agency.

Per Yahoo Sports:

In parting with their longtime forward, the Thunder improved their depth, picking up a potential starting guard in Oladipo, a forward with 3-point range in Ilyasova and a promising young center in Sabonis. OKC still has Steven Adams and Enes Kanter to help anchor their frontline.

Meanwhile, the Magic get an athletic forward in Ibaka who averaged 12.6 points and 6.8 rebounds this past season.
