Lyle, Ohio State stifle Western Carolina

COLUMBUS -- JaQuan Lyle scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds, and Ohio State remained unbeaten with a 66-38 hammer job of visiting Western Carolina on Monday.

The Buckeyes (4-0) held Western Carolina to 27 percent shooting.

"I thought defensively we were as sound as we've been in a long time," said Ohio State coach Thad Matta.

Jae'Sean Tate added 14 points and 11 boards for the Buckeyes. Kam Williams scored 13 points in his first start, and Trevor Thompson finished with 10.

The Buckeyes next host Jackson State on Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
