Grizzlies' Conley to undergo season-ending surgery
The Memphis Grizzlies have announced that point guard Mike Conley will undergo season-ending surgery to smooth a small bone protrusion in his left heel.
Conley is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the team's 2018 training camp. Conley has been out since Nov. 13 and averaged 17.1 points and 4.1 assists in the 12 games he played in.
The Grizzlies said in December and early January that Conley was getting therapy and treatment to help promote healing and alleviate soreness in his left heel and Achilles, but the pain and soreness persisted.
"Mike has been extremely diligent as we pursued multiple different approaches to alleviate the pain before deciding surgery was the best solution," Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said.
