Cavs' Thompson, Mavs' Powell among Canada camp invitees
Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson and Dallas Mavericks forward Dwight Powell are among the notable names invited to participate in Team Canada's training camp and exhibition play ahead of the 2019 World Cup Qualifiers.
Camp starts next month, with Charlotte Hornets assistant Jay Triano again serving as Canada's coach.
"We're excited to continue the positive momentum created through the first two windows, as we look to take another step toward our goal of qualifying for the FIBA World Cup 2019," Triano said in a prepared statement.
Along with Thompson and Powell, Canada's camp roster is expected to include Indiana Pacers point guard Cory Joseph, Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, Miami Heat center Kelly Olynyk, Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks and former No. 1 overall draft pick Anthony Bennett, currently of the G League.
