Vikings go cold, stay cold, fall to Falcons
Cleveland State was a team that couldn't shoot straight, and visiting Bowling Green certainly had something to do with that.
But the Vikings probably had something to do with it too -- as they were a miserable 27 percent from the field in dropping an 62-47 decision to the Falcons on Wednesday.
The loss snapped the Vikings' two-game winning streak.
"You can't beat anyone when you shoot 27-percent," Vikings coach Gary Waters said. "We shot the ball well the last three or four games, but we couldn't buy a bucket today. The key is to make this about just one game and not about the rest of the season."
Andre Yates scored the game's first five points and finished with 11 for Cleveland State. But the Vikings (4-8) made just four baskets in the second half (two of which came in the closing minute) and went 3-of-20 on 3-pointers for the game.
Zack Denny and Spencer Parker each scored 13 points for Bowling Green (8-4).
Cleveland State hosts Cedarville on Dec. 29.
