The Sacramento Kings are prepared to make a "massive offer" to free-agent forward Al Horford when free agency tips off tonight, according to Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee.
The report states Horford and his representatives have not scheduled meetings with any teams for today. It was reported Saturday that Horford will be pursued by the Kings and the New Orleans Pelicans.
Horford, 33, averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 blocked shots in 29.0 minutes in 68 games in his third and final season with the Boston Celtics, shooting 53.5 percent from the field, 36.0 percent from deep and a career-high 82.1 percent from the free-throw line.
The third overall pick of the 2007 NBA Draft out of Florida by the Atlanta Hawks, the 6-foot-10, 245-pound Horford carries career averages of 14.1 points, 8.4 boards, 3.2 assists and 1.2 blocks in 32.8 minutes in 786 games, with a shooting line of 52.5/36.8/75.4.
The 12-year veteran has made five appearances in the NBA All-Star Game.
