Knicks sign power forward Gibson to two-year pact

The New York Knicks are signing power forward Taj Gibson to a two-year, $20 million contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Earlier on Sunday, New York signed another power forward, Julius Randle, to a three-year, $63 million contract.

Gibson, 34, averaged 10.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 24.1 minutes in 70 games (57 starts) for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, shooting 56.6 percent from the field and 75.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The nine-year veteran was the 26th overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft out of Southern California by the Chicago Bulls.

The 6-foot-9, 232-pound Gibson carries career averages of 9.8 points, 6.4 boards, 1.0 assists and 1.1 blocked shots in 25.9 minutes in 737 games (384 starts), shooting 51.2 percent from the floor and 70.9 percent from the charity stripe.
