Mavericks to sign free agent big man Marjanovic

The Dallas Mavericks will sign center Boban Marjanovic, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times. Shams Charania of Stadium reports the pact will be for two years and $7 million.

The 7-foot-3, 290-pound Marjanovic was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers by the Los Angeles Clippers in the Tobias Harris deal at the trade deadline last season.

In 58 games with the Clippers and the 76ers last season, Marjanovic averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in 11.7 minutes in 58 games (12 starts), shooting 61.5 percent from the field and 74.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Marjanovic, 30, carries career averages of 6.2 points and 3.9 boards in 9.8 minutes in 186 games (17 starts), shooting 58.3 percent from the field and 77.3 percent from the charity stripe.

In addition to the Clippers and the 76ers, Marjanovic has also played for the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons in his four-season NBA career.
