Mavs get guard Wright in sign-and-trade with Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies and Delon Wright have agreed to a sign-and-trade deal that will send the restricted free-agent guard to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for two second-round draft picks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Wright will be playing on a three-year, $29 million contract with the Mavericks, according to Wojnarowski.

He was traded to Memphis by the Toronto Raptors as part of the deal that sent center Marc Gasol to Toronto.

In 26 games with the Grizzlies, Wright's minutes jumped to 30.8 from 20.8 and he averaged 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.6 steals, shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 25.6 percent from deep and 74.2 percent form the free-throw line.

Wright, 27, was the 20th overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft out of Utah by the Raptors.

He carries career averages of 7.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 19.2 minutes in 198 games (18 starts), with a shooting line of 44.5/33.2/79.6.
