Free agent point guard Ricky Rubio is expected to commit to the Indiana Pacers, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
"Talk of Ricky Rubio and a virtual done deal' with Indiana has been circulating for a week," Stein reported.
Rubio, 28, would help fill the void of free agent loss Darren Collison, who announced his retirement Friday. Veteran Pacers backup Corey Joseph is also an unrestricted free agent and his return is up in the air.
Rubio has spent the past two seasons with the Utah Jazz but his days with the franchise expired following the trade with the Memphis Grizzlies for Mike Conley Jr. earlier this month.
Rubio averaged 12.7 points and 6.1 assists in 68 regular-season games, 67 of which he started. He increased his scoring average to a career-best 15.4 points in five playoff games.
