Fighting for a playoff spot in the Western Conference can be a maddening endeavor. But during the process, the Utah Jazz are learning a lot about themselves.
First, they know they need Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert, their big men who have missed an inordinate amount of time with injuries.
Second, they know need Gordon Hayward to produce points and lead.
Third, they are wondering if they have enough around those players — and perhaps, if they may need to deal one of them to get to where they ultimately need to go.
The Jazz (19-25) are coming off a home loss to the Detroit Pistons. It was a typical game in a season of wondering whether the Jazz will hit, or sometimes inexplicably miss.
