Amico: Weekly top 10 NBA rankings

Publish date:

My weekly ranking of the NBA's top 10 teams, posted each Thursday.

1. Golden State Warriors

Record-setting 1995-96 Bulls started 41-3 on way to 72-10. Warriors at 29-2 (through Wednesday). Can they do it?

2. San Antonio Spurs

Mark Jan. 25 on calendar. That's when Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and the rest get first stab at Warriors.

3. Cleveland Cavaliers

Kyrie Irving is back. They fared well without him. They should rise higher with him.

4. Oklahoma City Thunder

Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant still could use one more consistent perimeter threat.

5. Los Angeles Clippers

Slowly starting to put it together. But how long can they keep it going without the injured Blake Griffin?

6. Atlanta Hawks

Coming around nicely after rugged start. But once again we ask, who's the go-to guy here?

7. Toronto Raptors

Very good team in many facets. But are they good enough to run with the best on a regular basis?

8. Dallas Mavericks

Dirk Nowitzki wants to make one more run. Look for Mavs to be players near trading deadline.

9. Chicago Bulls

Jimmy Butler can pull this team together or rip it apart at any moment. Wonder which he'll choose.

10. Miami Heat

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will keep them in the hunt. But need more from everyone else.
