Patrick Beverley, known for his ferocious defense and take-no-prisoners attitude during his NBA career, has not let the fact he played in only 11 games last year before being lost for the season because of knee surgery alter his attitude.
As the 30-year-old prepares for his second season with the Los Angeles Clippers, the veteran backcourt player sounds just like the player whom gave the Houston Rockets swagger for five seasons right up until the point he was dealt as part of the trade that sent All-Star point guard Chris Paul to Houston.
"Our attitude," Beverley responded when asked what the No. 1 is for the Clippers to get back to the playoffs this season. "We have to understand we have to come into every game with an edge. Come into every game with a chip on our shoulder.
"We have to be understanding that nothing is going to be given to us... that it's going to be hard. And we are willing to accept that challenge."
