Hornets convert Simmons' contract to two-way deal

The Charlotte Hornets have converted the contract of point guard Kobi Simmons to a two-way deal, the team announced in a news release.

Simmons agreed to a one-year contract with the Hornets back on Sept. 3.

Simmons is 6-foot-4 and went undrafted out of Arizona in 2017. He appeared in one game with the Cleveland Cavaliers last season and 32 with the Memphis Grizzlies the season before that as a rookie.

He was part of a G League trade last month that sent him and the 14th overall pick in the G League draft from the Canton Charge to the Greensboro Swarm for guard Jaylen Barford and the 12th overall pick. The Swarm are the Hornets' G League affiliate.
