Hornets sign rookie McDaniels to multiyear deal
The Charlotte Hornets have signed rookie power forward Jalen McDaniels to a partially guaranteed multiyear contract, according to Shams Charania of Stadium.
McDaniels is 6-foot-10 and averaged 15.9 points and 8.3 rebounds for San Diego State as a sophomore last season. The Hornets selected him in the second round (No. 52 overall) of the 2019 draft.
He initially signed a two-way contract with the club before agreeing to the latest pact.
McDaniels is the cousin of former NBA player and current Michigan coach Juwan Howard.
