Enes Kanter is expected to exercise his $18.6 million player option today with the New York Knicks, according to a report.
According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, the seven-year pro will be back for his second season with New York.
The 6-foot-11, 245-pound big man averaged 14.1 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 25.8 minutes in 71 games (all starts) for the Knicks last season.
He shot 59.2 percent from the field and 84.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Kanter was acquired along with Doug McDermott and a 2018 second-round draft pick (which turned into Mitchell Robinson) from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Carmelo Anthony on Sept. 25, 2017.
