The Sacramento Kings are continuing to monitor the situation in Washington, with an eye on Wizards small forward Otto Porter Jr., according to a report from Jason Jones of The Athletic.
The struggling Wizards have been considering shaking things up , according to multiple reports, with Porter Jr. being among the players garnering the most interest.
The Kings offered Porter a maximum contract when he hit restricted free agency two summers ago, but he opted to sign one with the Brooklyn Nets instead. The Wizards matched the offer to retain Porter.
Porter is owed around $55.7 million over the two seasons, but as Luke Adams of HoopsRumors explained, the Kings are well below the salary cap (around $11 million). They also have the expiring contracts of Zach Randolph, Kosta Koufos and Ben McLemore that might be of interest to the Wizards.
Porter Jr. has also reportedly drawn interest from the New Orleans Pelicans and several others.
