Kings' Joerger 'all right' after leaving game with dizzy spell

Sacramento coach DaveJoerger is reportedly doing OK after suffering from a dizzy spell and falling to one knee during the first quarter of the Kings' 113-98 loss at San Antonio on Sunday night.

The Kings announced during the game Joerger experienced a "momentary episode of light-headedness" and would not return to the game for precautionary reasons, which he did not.

"He's OK. He's alright," Kings assistant coach ElstonTurner told reporters after the loss to the Spurs. "Sometimes, when you stand up real fast from a sitting position, you get a little bit light-headed. And that's what happened.

"He saw the doc and our trainers and took the rest of the night off."

An ESPN report said Joerger appeared to be in some discomfort when he was shown on the arena video board during pregame introductions.

However, Turner said, as far as he knew, Joerger was "feeling great" before the game.

"He's a young coach in good health," Turner said. "A lot of energy, and he exerts it during the game. He exerts it in practice.

"And it's just an incident that happened. And unfortunately, it was when the lights were on."

Team officials were not sure if the 43-year-old Joerger, in his second season at the helm of the Kings, would remain with the team, which plays Tuesday night at New Orleans, or return to Sacramento.
