Kings sign Cavs summer leaguer Artis to two-year deal

The Sacramento Kings have signed forward Jamel Artis to a two-year contract, according to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The 6-foot-7, 213-pound Artis went undrafted in 2017 out of the University of Pittsburgh, where he spent four years. He played in 15 games for the Orlando Magic last season.

In those 15 games (1 start), Artis averaged 5.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.6 minutes, shooting 39.2 percent from the field, 27.6 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 58.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Artis, 25, played for the Cleveland Cavaliers' Las Vegas Summer League squad, which made the final four before being bounced by the eventual runner-up and defending champion Los Angeles Lakers in double overtime.

As a senior at Pittsburgh, Artis averaged a career-high 18.2 points, 4.9 boards and 3.3 dimes, shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from deep.
