Lakers waive Stockton, sign shooting guard Hearn

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed shooting guard Reggie Hearn and waived point guard David Stockton, the team announced in a news release.

The move is basically a formality, as both players will be eligible for and are likely headed to the South Bay Lakers of the G League.

Hearn, 28, is 6-foot-5 and appeared in three games for the Detroit Pistons in 2017-18. He averaged 11.4 points in 40 games with the Stockton Kings of the G League last season.

Stockton, also 28, is 5-11 and spent last season playing in Germany. He has appeared in a total of six NBA games with the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings.

He has also spent extensive time in the G League with the Reno Bighorns. He is the son of Hall of Famer John Stockton and brother of former G League guard Michael Stockton.
