Suns' Knight tears ACL, could miss season

Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and he could miss the entire 2017-18 season, according to a report from ESPN.

The Suns later verified the report on the team website.

A full recovery of the ACL and range of motion in the knee usually takes up tosix to nine months after the surgery is completed.

Knight, 25, played in 54 games last year with the Suns while averaging 11.0 points per contest.

He signed a five-year, $70 million deal with Phoenix in 2015 after getting traded by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Injuries have been a constant theme in Knight's NBA career.

He underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle in April of 2015 and has missed a plethora of games due to back ailments.
