The Cleveland Cavaliers have exercised the 2019-20 contract option on center Ante Zizic, according to a report from Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.
Zizic, 21, was among those acquired in the Cavs' trade of Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics. In fact, other than rookie Collin Sexton, selected with the No. 8 overall pick, Zizic is the only player who remains from that deal.
He didn't see much time last year, but that could change as the Cavs may soon enter full rebuild mode following an 0-6 start and a coaching change.
So far this year, Zizic is averaging 3.4 points and 2.0 rebounds in five appearances.
As Fedor noted, the Cavs had until Wednesday to make the decision on Zizic's option.
