The Portland Trail Blazers are trading shooting guard Allen Crabbe to the Brooklyn Nets for forward Andrew Nicholson, according to a report from ESPN.

The Blazers are likely to waive Nicholson and the remaining $18 million on his three-year contract, according to ESPN. They will then utilize the "stretch provision" to "ease the luxury tax hit on the Blazers cap," ESPN reported.

Meanwhile, the Nets continue their offseason makeover with a D'Angelo Russellshooter in Crabbe, who will join newcomers and Timofey Mozgov (Los Angeles Lakers), and DeMarre Carroll (Toront0 Raptors).

The Nets signed Crabbe to a four-year offer sheet last summer, but the Blazers matched.

Per ESPN: "Crabbe waived a trade kicker that would have paid him $5.6 million over the next two years, league sources said. He wanted to sign with the Nets a year ago for the chance to be a starter, and he now gets a bigger role in a Brooklyn backcourt that includes D'Angelo Russell and Jeremy Lin. The Nets have been eager to construct a roster that includes developing young players, and Crabbe fits the model."
