Nuggets waive veteran shooting guard Young

The Denver Nuggets have waived veteran shooting guard Nick Young, the team announced in a news release.

Young was signed Dec. 10 with the team's injury hardship exception. He appeared in four games and averaged 2.3 points.

"With Paul Millsap returning from injury (Saturday) night in Phoenix -- and the expected arrivals of Gary Harris and Will Barton soon -- Nick Young had to be released,"

Young, 33, has played 11 seasons and carries career averages of 11.4 points and 2.0 rebounds. Along with the Warriors, he has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers and Washington Wizards.

He had been a free agent since going unsigned by the Golden State Warriors this past offseason.
