Pelicans to exercise fourth-year options on Ball, Hart

The New Orleans Pelicans are exercising the fourth-year options on newcomers Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart, according to Andrew Lopez of ESPN.

Both players are entering their third season and were obtained by the Pelicans from the Los Angeles Lakers as part of the Anthony Davis trade.

Ball, 21, is 6-foot-6 and was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in 2017. He has spent a large chunk of his first two seasons on the injured list, averaging 9.9 points and 5.4 assists in 47 games last season.

Hart, 24, is 6-5 and was drafted with the No. 30 overall pick in 2017. He averaged 7.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 67 games last season.

Both figure to play prominent roles with the remade Pelicans.
