Blazers' Lillard to play against Hornets despite elbow injury

Portland Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard will give it a go tonight as they take on the Charlotte Hornets, playing despite dealing with a left elbow injury he suffered on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls in a Portland 124-112 win.

Lillard was listed by the Blazers as questionable (50/50) to play in the contest against the Hornets, but this afternoon Blazers reporter Casey Holdahl announced Lillard will be on the court tonight.

Holdahl reports that the following the game against the Bulls that Lillard 'didn't think the injury was all that serious. Aside from leaving open the chance that it gets worse the day after, it always seemed likely he'd play tonight vs. Hornets,' which is good news for the club.

Lillard was grabbing his left elbow as he left the game on Wednesday, in the win he scored 16 points, had one rebound and 10 assists.

This season in 42 games Lillard is averaging 25.9 points per night, with 4.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.
