The Houston Rockets have interest in acquiring Atlanta Hawks swingman Kent Bazemore, according to a report from Kelly Iko of Rockets Wire.
The Rockets have been active in the trade market looking to add more wing defenders to the roster after losing Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute in free agency.
Houston is aggressively trying to move veteran forward Ryan Anderson, who is due to make more than $20 million next season and just more than $21 million in 2019-20.
Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk would take back a bad contract such as Anderson’s if the Rockets attached a future draft pick, per the report.
Bazemore is set to make $18 million next season and has a player option worth $19.3 million for 2019-20. He averaged 12.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists this past season, hitting 42.0 percent of his shots overall and 39.4 percent from beyond the arc.
