Report: Tiriano will not be Suns coach

The Phoenix Suns have informed Jay Tiriano, who had served as the team's interim head coach during this season, that he will not be returning in that capacity, according to a report.

John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM Arizona Sports Station reported Tiriano, who took over after Earl Watson was fired, has been eliminated from consideration to the the franchise's next head coach.

The Suns went 21-58 under Tiriano this season. Chris Haynes of ESPN reported assistant coach Tyrone Corbin will also not be back.

Since the end of the regular season, David Fizdale, Igor Kokoskov, Frank Vogel, Vinny Del Negro, former Cavaliers head coach David Blatt, Kevin McHale, former Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer, Nick Nurse, Chris Finch, former Charlotte head coach Steve Clifford, JamesBorrego and Hall of Famer and former Sun Jason Kidd had either interviewed or been linked to the position.

Kidd, fired this season as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks and also the former head coach of the Nets, reportedly has been eliminated from consideration for the job.
