T-Wolves' Wiggins had a less-than-stellar Friday night

Publish date:

Aside from the fact he makes millions of dollars and plays professional basketball for a living, odds are your Friday went better than that of Andrew Wiggins.

The Minnesota Timberwolves forward went 5-of-12 from the free-throw line in a 123-120 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at Staples Center.

A 74 percent career shooter from the charity stripe, Wiggins heard about it from an agitated home crowd.

It didn't sit well with Wiggins.

"That's fans for you," Wiggins told reporters. "We've got some s---ty fans, and we've got some good fans. That's just how it works."

While the Timberwolves (16-19) were a less-than-impressive 21 of 38 from the free-throw line in the loss to the Hawks (10-24), it was only a continuation of how the night went for Wiggins, who missed three of four attempts in the closing seconds.

In perhaps a signal of what was to come, Wiggins somehow forgot to put his game jersey on underneath his warmups.

"It happens," Wiggins said. "It's one of those days and one of those games."
