The Washington Wizards intend to sign free-agent point guard Chasson Randle, according to a report from Shams Charania of Stadium.
Randle, 25, was waived by the Wizards in training camp.
Before that, he spent time with the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks in 2017,compiling career averages of 5.3 points and 1.3 assists in 26 combined games.
The 6-foot-1 Randle has also played in the G-League with the Delaware 87ers, and was on the Capital City Go-Go roster entering this season.
"NBA teams are generally required to carry at least 14 players on their 15-man regular season rosters, but league rules allow clubs to carry less than that amount for up to two weeks at a time," Luke Adams of HoopsRumors explained. "Because the Wizards only had 13 players on their roster for the first two weeks of the season, a transaction to add a 14th man was required.
