The Cavaliers are likely to call up D-League scoring sensation Jordan McRae within the next several days, multiple sources told Amico Hoops late Friday.
McRae is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard with the Delaware 87ers and is averaging 23.3 points and 5.2 assists per game.
McRae also holds the D-League single-game scoring record, erupting for 61 points and 11 rebounds against the Canton Charge in January.
He recently signed two 10-day contracts with the Suns, but was released after playing in seven games and averaging 5.3 points in 11.7 minutes.
The No. 58 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Tennessee, McRae was selected by the Spurs then immediately traded to the 76ers. He spent six months playing professionally in Australia, but has spent the majority of the past year in the D-League.
The 87ers are the Sixers' minor league affiliate.
The Cavs' signing of McRae was first reported by Upside & Motor, a website devoted to D-League coverage.
