Cavaliers' Lue secures All-Star coaching gig
CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue will coach the Eastern Conference All-Stars, the NBA announced Wednesday.
Lue is 2-1 after taking over for David Blatt, who was fired last week. The All-Star game is scheduled for Feb. 14 in Toronto.
The Cavaliers (32-12) clinched the best record in the East through games played Jan. 31, by virtue of their 115-93 win over the Suns. Lue's assistants will join him in coaching the East.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich will coach the West. While the Spurs have the second-best record in their conference, Warriors coach Steve Kerr coached in the All-Star Game last year and is ineligible this season.
