Dillon Brooks Reveals Why He Swapped Jerseys With Kyrie Irving

Dillon Brooks is a big fan of Kyrie Irving.

Even though Dillon Brooks loves talking trash and it seems like he may not like Kyrie Irving, that actually isn't the case. At the end of last night's game against the Dallas Mavericks, Brooks tried engaging in a jersey swap with Kyrie Irving.

After the game, Brooks revealed why he wanted to initiate a jersey swap with Kyrie.

"Two guys that love the game of basketball," Brooks said. "He said my defense is a gimmick, but clearly it wore on him towards the fourth quarter."

It goes a bit deeper than that for Brooks, he's actually a huge fan of Kyrie Irving - both on the court and off the court.

"I'm a fan of Kyrie, for everything he stands for, the way he uses his platform, his basketball game," Brooks said. "When you're growing up you want to aspire to do what he does. He's just like Kobe, he's just like Jordan, those guys. He plays the game at a different pace. He uses both hands, midrange god, and that's where I want to be at one day."

Underneath all of the trash talk and bravado that Dillon Brooks displays, there's still a man who grew up loving the game of basketball. Someone who grew up with heroes, favorite players, and players he aspired to be like. While there are caricatures of the man, it's really important to never forget who is behind them.
