Summary

Both the Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons entered Tuesday night's game without key players. However, only one of the teams felt their absence. Atlanta defeated Detroit 129-107 to complete the season sweep.

With Dejounte Murray (non-Covid illness) out, Trae Young led the team with 30 points and 12 assists. Atlanta played physically on both sides of the ball and repeatedly forced their way to the foul line, hitting 26-37 (75%) attempts.

Detroit lacked a cadre of players, and the young roster could not overcome their lack of depth. Despite Marvin Bagley III tallying 26 points and eight rebounds, Detroit got dominated in the paint. Atlanta outrebounded Detroit 61-35.

Following the game, some fireworks resulted from Jaden Ivey's last-second layup. The rookie started barking with Trae Young and John Collins before cooler heads eventually prevailed.

Atlanta improves to 36-36, while Detroit falls to 16-57 on the season. Tonight the Hawks will fly to the North Star State for a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
