Timberwolves Update Rudy Gobert's Status for Jazz Matchup

Rudy Gobert is back in town, but will he suit up against the Utah Jazz?

The Utah Jazz play the Minnesota Timberwolves in their fourth and final game against each other this regular season. Both teams are entering the contest with some key contributors in question to participate.

Minnesota shooting guard Austin Rivers is out, due to a three-game suspension, while Kyle Anderson (back) and Rudy Gobert (groin) are questionable. Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns also will be out and has no timetable for a return since injuring his calf on November 28.

For the Jazz, Jarred Vanderbilt (back) is listed as questionable. The Jazz will need to get the victory if they want to own the tiebreaker against the Timberwolves at season's end.

Currently, the Jazz are one game behind Minnesota in the competitive Western Conference, where only 2.5 games separate the No. 6 and No. 11 seeds.

With the NBA trade deadline looming on Thursday, Jazz players will finally get closure on where they’ll be spending the remainder of the season. According to the rumor mill, the Jazz have been engaged in talks with multiple teams, but will executive Danny Ainge pull the trigger?

Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley, Kelly Olynyk, Jordan Clarkson, and Mike Conley are the prime candidates to be on the move. However, the Jazz brain trust is on the record stating they won’t be playing for draft position moving forward.

Tip-off is on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm MDT.
