Previewing the Three Point Contest

Previewing the three point contest during an abbreviated all-star weekend.

Due to COVID-19, the All-Star weekend looks very different this season. Instead of spreading the events throughout the weekend, the NBA will pack all the main events into one event on Sunday night. Today, we preview the three point contest.

All-star coverage begins on TNT at 5:30 PM ET.

Participants: Jaylen Brown (Celtics), Mike Conley (Jazz), Steph Curry (Warriors), Zach LaVine (Bulls), Donovan Mitchell (Jazz), Jayson Tatum (Celtics)

Jaylen Brown

Brown has attempted 5.9 three point shots per game this season where he shoots 38.8%. He scores 24.7 points per game.

Mike Conley

Mike Conley replaced Devin Booker in the all-star game and the three point contest. The first-time all-star shoots 42.2% from three on 6.6 attempts per game.

Steph Curry

Steph Curry is the favorite to win the Mountain Dew Three Point Contest according to oddsmakers. He shoots 41% from three on 11.7(!) attempts per game. 

Donovan Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell leads the Utah Jazz who own the best record in the NBA. Mitchell shoots 38.2% from three on 8.7 attempts per game. He scores 24.7 points per game for the Jazz.

Zach Lavine

Lavine has attempted 8.1 three point shots per game this season where he shoots an impressive 43.5% - the highest percentage among the participants. He scores 28.7 points per game for the Bulls.

Jayson Tatum

Tatum has attempted 7.1 three point shots per game this season where he shoots 36.8%. That is the lowest percentage among the participants. He scores 24.9 points per game.
