The race for first place out West has turned into a two-team race between the Jazz and the Suns. Below are the upcoming schedules for the top four teams in the West this week.

Upcoming Schedule

Let's take a look at the upcoming schedule (Monday-Sunday) for the Jazz, Clippers, Suns and Nuggets, and how that could impact the standings.

Utah Jazz - @ Mavericks, @ Suns, vs Trail Blazers, vs Kings

The Jazz face a difficult schedule this week. The head-to-head matchup against the Suns, in particular, will be very important in terms of the Western Conference Standings.

Denver Nuggets - vs Pistons, vs Spurs, vs Spurs, vs Celtics

The Nuggets are quickly rising up the standings, and I expect them to do even more climbing this week. They play four very winnable games, all of which are at home.

LA Clippers - vs Blazers, vs Suns, vs Rockets, vs Pistons

The Clippers are at home all week. If they stumble this week, their chances of being the #2 seed out West look slim.

Phoenix Suns - @ Rockets, vs Jazz, @ Clippers, vs Wizards

The Suns have an opportunity to make up ground against the Jazz this week. They play two very winnable games against the Rockets and Wizards, and they can gain a full game on the Jazz with a win on Wednesday.
