Watch: Highlights of Newest Jazz Man Matt Thomas
Yesterday, the Utah Jazz traded for Matt Thomas in exchange for a second-round draft pick. The Jazz, who shoot more three-point shots than any team in the league, added another shooter to their roster when they added Matt Thomas. You can check out a few of his highlights from last season below:
Matt Thomas made his NBA debut in October of 2019 for the Toronto Raptors. In the shortened 2019-2020 season, he averaged 4.9 points per game in 10.7 minutes per game. Most impressively, Thomas shot 47.5% from three.
His production has dipped slightly through 26 games played this season - he has averaged 2.7 points per game and shot 41.5% from three. He has also played fewer minutes, averaging only 7.4 minutes played per game.
Our Take
There's not a clear hole in the Jazz's rotation that Thomas will fill. However, Quinn Snyder might find a limited role for Thomas given his three-point shooting ability. He will also be able to provide some depth should a rotation player miss time due to injury.
The Jazz hold the best record in the NBA. With their roster now in place for the second half of the season, the Jazz are preparing themselves to make a run in the playoffs.
