Knicks Sign and Trade for Heat SG Max Strus?

Miami Heat shooting guard Max Strus would solve a lot of problems for the New York Knicks if they signed him this offseason.

The New York Knicks could learn a thing or two from the Miami Heat.

Despite losing the past two games in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics, the Heat remain just one win away from their second NBA Finals appearance in the last four seasons. It's also the third time since 2020 that the Heat has been in the Conference Finals against the Celtics. Miami, of course, made it back to the conference finals by ousting the Knicks in six games in the semifinal round.

Part of that success has been from shooting guard Max Strus, who becomes a free agent at season's end. Bleacher Report suggests that he could be a fit for the Knicks.

"He is just as effective from distance (career 37.1 percent), but that's not all he brings to the floor," Bleacher Report writes. "He fights defensively. He moves well without the basketball. He has enough zip to slip past close-outs or back-cut distracted defenders and finish at the rim."

Strus has that "chip on his shoulder" that a lot of Knicks can relate to. He would fit right in next to Jalen Brunson in the backcourt and provide the necessary spacing and distance shooting for New York. Three-point shooting is possibly the one area the Knicks have to improve in this offseason. The team ranked 19th in the NBA in three-point shooting this year and 20th in shooting overall.

Strus could be part of the solution that helps change that.
